Guidance

This is a guidance page for how to buy and best play Chäos;HEAd, both the original and the enhanced version ChäoS;HEAd NoAH. The recommended way of playing ChäoS;HEAd NoAH is with the fan translation patch (external link) by the fan translation group Committee of Zero, which fully retranslates the game in a way consistent with the other SciADV releases, readds scenes that were censored in the official release, fully translates most CGs, fixes bugs and improves on the readability by adding quotation marks on the spoken lines, among other things.

Delusion Trigger System[]

Main article: ChäoS;HEAd Guidance/Delusion Trigger System

The Delusion Trigger System is the main form of player interaction in the game ChäoS;HEAd. It allows the protagonist Takumi Nishijou to view positive delusions, negative delusions, or no delusions at all at various points in the story with the press of a button.

If playing the original Windows version of the ChäoS;HEAd game, a good walkthrough can be found here, written by repgatu, edited by Fasty, with B ending information from MrMonday and RCgamer77.

If playing the original ChäoS;HEAd for Windows, be sure to use the Chaotic;Head 1.30 translation patch for the Windows version of ChäoS;HEAd (which can be purchased legally), unless you can read Japanese, in which case you should play the original game unmodified.

How to Buy[]

A full guide on how to legally purchase the original ChäoS;HEAd and apply the fan translation is at Kiri Kiri Basara. The legal download/purchasing site is DLsite.com, where the Nitro The Best Vol. 4 release costs 3300 Japanese yen, which is about $28.92 in US dollars and €25.55 in Euros currently but it fluctuates.

Used physical copies of ChäoS;HEAd can be found on online auctions such as Amazon and Yahoo! Japan, and are cheaper than the digital download, but delivery from Japan to other countries will add to the price, and might not always be possible, depending on the seller and auction site; there are proxy buying services for buying from sellers that do not deliver outside Japan such as Buyee for proxy buying from Yahoo! Japan, Amazon, and other auctions, which is explained at the Kiri Kiri Basara link above.

If you are buying the digital copy from DLsite.com, credit card/debit card and PayPal payment methods can be used. If you are using Paypal to buy the game, go to the product page and click the pink “Purchase Points” button, then click the “DL Pay” link. Several point increments are available. You need to buy the same number of points as the game’s cost in yen according to DLsite. So, if the game costs 3,300 yen, you need to buy 2,000 points, 1,000 points, and 500 points to be able to purchase the game, after you have bought the points, input them on DLsite’s serial code page to redeem them onto your account, then finally choose to buy the game with your points in the checkout page.

The English translated version of ChäoS;HEAd NoAH can today be bought through Steam, GOG, and through either the Nintendo eShop or physically by buying the ChäoS;HEAd NoAH / ChäoS;Child Double Pack for the Nintendo Switch.
