Cosmic Church of the Divine Light

The Cosmic Church of the Divine Light (天成神光会, Tensei Shinkokai) is a cult led by Chairman Yuudai Kuramochi, whose followers include Mamoru Suwa and Shino Hazuki, and Issei Hatano, a former follower who left. Both the Cosmic Church of the Divine Light and the Meiwa Party are involved in funding Project Noah, a scheme originally devised by the Committee of 300 which is now being managed by N.O.Z.O.M.I.

The Cosmic Church of the Divine Light is also behind the New Generation Madness, with its followers Suwa and Shino being the serial killers, acting on orders from Kuramochi. Their kotodama (slogan/mantra believed to have mystical powers when said) is “May the divine light save you.” (神光の救うやれ。; Shinkō no Sukuu Yare.)

Since the First Melt, the number of followers has multiplied considerably during the events of ChäoS;HEAd due to the increase in biorhythms in Shibuya's inhabitants.

Similarities to real life

As a Japanese new religious movement or shinshūkyō (新宗教) in Japanese, the Cosmic Church of the Divine Light has parallels to real-world Japanese new religious movements, several of which have political parties affiliated with them. Most notably, the biggest real-world new religious movement in Japan is the Soka Gakkai, which has a political party loosely affiliated with it, the Komeito Party, the third largest political party in Japan.
