Gladioul Saga (グラジオール・サーガ, Gurajiōru Sāga) is a fictional fantasy novel saga written by R.C.O. Zeigler from 1929 to 1951, which Ayase Kishimoto is obsessed with. The saga contains 23 volumes and is based on an Eastern European myth. The series has been translated into multiple languages, but never gained widespread appear due its esoteric writing style.

The legend[]

The book is set in medieval times and tells the story of a battle between the Wicked-Hearted King Gladioul and seven DI-sword-wielding Black Knights of Gladioul (グラジオールの黒騎士, Gurajiōru no Kuro Kishi).

Ayase's songs which predicted the New Gen cases are based on the 17th volume, The Gladioul Book of Psalms and Revelation. Other works in the series include: The Gladioul Book of Kings and Wicked Hearts, Apostolic Letter, and more.

Authenticity[]

Ayase's Route calls the entire existence of the saga into question, as the volume she has in her hospital room turns out to be consisting of only blank pages except for the title on the cover, and Takumi is unable to find the text, or even any information about the book online, except for an extremely brief summary.

When confronted with this, Ayase denies the book being blank and claims that some people are just incapable of seeing its text, while normally this would serve as solid evidence that she is mentally ill and that the book was merely realbooted by her. In the same route, Ayase is shown to perceive the world in a completely different way from Takumi, seeing sky as red and being able to see and even physically interact with people's wicked hearts. It is unknown whether this perception of the world is a truly different way to perceive reality, mental illness, an unusual manifestation of Gigalomaniac powers, or a mix of these.

Thus, the possibility that Gladioul Saga actually exists but can only be seen by certain people is neither confirmed nor denied.
