Mamoru Suwa (諏訪 護, Suwa Mamoru) is a detective for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department - Criminal Investigation Division. He is Yasuji Ban's junior partner, and Ban considers him to be both an underling and a friend. He is also a believer of the Cosmic Church of the Divine Light and the boyfriend of Shino Hazuki
Appearance[]
Suwa has light brown hair and wears a blue suit with a white shirt and a light blue necktie. His tidy appearance contrasts with Yasuji Ban's disheveled look. While committing New Gen crimes and impersonating Shogun, he wears a Darth Spider helmet and suit.
Personality[]
While Yasuji Ban considers Suwa a friend and a partner, Suwa does not really like him and frequently complains about Ban's bizarre investigation methods and how Ban always bosses him around and calls him a schmuck. When he's not acting cruel and being normal, Suwa acts friendly, stern and he's quiete geeky about SF movies. He also remains calm and professional in any situation as a detective.
When he shows his true color as a Cosmic Church of the Divine Light believer, he always has a mocking smile on him. He is also very cruel and doesn't care about anyone who he kills as long as it is for the church. His acctual goal is awakening Takumi Nishijou as a Gigalomaniac and then take his CODE Sample as part of Project Noah
Background[]
Mamoru Suwa is Shino Hazuki's childhood friend, and boyfriend. Both of them were born in a family that followed and believed in the Cosmic Church of the Divine Light, and god. The greater founder had been there for them since birth. Suwa and Hazuki were raised together as children of the whole sect. It had also been the great Founder's will that they bind themselves to one another. And so the two of them obeyed their sect's teachings, to the point of offering up the life of the child residing in Hazuki's belly. The seven incidents commonly known as New Generation Madness were all caused by Hazuki and Suwa.
Plot[]
Suwa impersonates Shogun during the video of the Group Dive and the Vampbuyer case but also when chatting with Takumi Nishijou in chat rooms and by mails after sending to him Nanami's hand. He also pretends to be in a wheelchair and wears a Darth Spider mask.
In one incident on the roof of the O-Front building, which also involved the famous American TV “psychic investigator” Yuri Brightman, Suwa, while pretending to be Shogun, attempted to get Takumi Nishijou to awaken his Gigalomaniac powers and manifest his DI-sword. This plot involved cutting off Nanami Nishijou’s right hand and using it to blackmail Takumi. Ultimately, Takumi was unable to manifest his DI-sword and was publicly humiliated since the whole event was caught on camera by multiple television stations that had many people watching at the time and seen by a large crowd from the ground.
Suwa killed Yasuji Ban by shooting him on AH Tokyo General Hospital's roof. He acted as a porter and impaled Takumi with a myriad of stakes, much like in the Cruc-affixion incident which Suwa had also committed. However, the same second that he released the final stake that was supposed to surely kill Takumi, Takumi used his delusionary powers to switch places with Suwa, leading to Suwa's death.
In the Crying Sky end, Suwa does the same, but instead since Takumi Nishijou killed Shino Hazuki, he decided to fully break his heart and mind by using a delusion with his porter, forcing Takumi to go through all seven New Gen murders as the perspective of the victims, feeling every bit of the pain. At the end, he succeeded and harnessed his CODE Sample, completing Project Noah and fulfilling Norose's goal of a Utopia.

- ↑ Deduced: if 'Suwa is born on December 6 and is 24 during ChäoS;HEAd, which takes place in 2008, then he would be born in 1985. However, since the events of ChäoS;HEAd seem to take place in 2009 for the rest of the Science Adventure Series, it is possible that his birth year was retconned to be a year later.
