Realbooting

In ChäoS;HEAd, Realbooting is the natural ability of Gigalomaniacs and the artificial ability of N.O.Z.O.M.I.'s Noah II to falsely trick a person into thinking delusions are real in the case of “errors”, or even turn what were originally delusions into the shared reality of all observers by physically manifesting objects that were originally in delusions into the real world.

Theory

The character Sena Aoi explains that every operation in the world can be described using the numbers 0, 1, and -1. By using a DI-Sword to access the Dirac Sea and create pair production leading to the occurrence of particles and antiparticles, Gigalomaniacs are able to give substance to delusions.

By pushing generated particles or energy waves into the dead/blind spot in the minds of people and letting them undergo shared recognition by several people, the particles or delusions are manifested into “true reality”. In other words, delusions are “proven” real, because they are perceived as real or truth or part of reality by more than one observer. If they are not perceived through shared recognition by surrounding people then they have no substance and are simply delusional “errors”.

Errors that are perceived by multiple Gigalomaniacs are not, however, given substance for anyone else but the Gigalomaniacs themselves. Only by “realbooting” will they truly gain substance and be able to affect everyone.

Ir2 equation

Mathematically, realbooting is described by the Ir2 equation, and while Gigalomaniacs do not need any knowledge of this equation, it is necessary for Project Noah to create an artificial Gigalomaniac device such as Noah II. Without the Ir2 equation, the best that can be accomplished is projecting a delusion into people’s minds with the help of VR, but the delusion will still not become reality. Reality will remain unaltered and realbooting will not take place.

The Ir2 equation is based on earlier scientific work like the Dirac equation that governs antimatter and the Dirac Sea, but because it allows for realbooting, it is even more revolutionary than Albert Einstein’s E = mc2. Both the Ir2 equation and the equation E = mc2 were actually realbooted by Gigalomaniacs; Albert Einstein was himself a Gigalomaniac capable of realbooting.

Uses

“Realbooting” can be used to create as well as disguise beings and objects, even feelings can be created. In contrast, by pushing antiparticles into a person's dead/blind spot the manifested delusion is negated, thereby “freeing” the perceiver from the delusion which was made real.

Delusion Synchronization

Delusion Synchronization is caused when one or more Gigalomaniacs synchronizes their own delusion with that of another. By doing so they can distort the rules/delusions that others have created. This allows a Gigalomaniac to turn a delusion directed against them back against its owner or to make the delusion even more powerful.
