Suimei Private Academy, often shortened to Suimei Academy or Suimei, is a private high school in Shibuya that most of the characters in ChäoS;HEAd attend.

Known info

The tuition is a little expensive, so the Kusunoki family could only afford to send one of their daughters, sending Yua but not Mia. The Nishijou family can afford to send both their kids, both Takumi and Nanami. All seven of the teenage Gigalomaniacs attend this high school. This is no coincidence, as Kozue's route reveals that N.O.Z.O.M.I. owns the school and were intentionally gathering the Gigalomaniacs here. The only Gigalomaniac to enroll into the school by coincidence is Yua, as N.O.Z.O.M.I. had no idea she had Gigalomaniac potential.

It is known for its stylish uniforms that say “Suimei” on them in English, and many girls pick this high school just because they like the look of the uniforms. Attending class every day is not actually necessary to graduate, as Takumi figures out, and it is possible to graduate while only attending school an average of two and a half times per week, as Takumi does. It is a college-prep school with good teachers, and most of the students go on to prestigious colleges.

Student culture at Suimei appears to exhibit a fair amount of bullying and mean spirited behavior. They were shown to gossip about Takumi and make jokes about him and do the same to Kozue (also doing nothing to help her when she trips and gets hurt). They also actively encourage Ayase to commit suicide after finding out she was previously hospitalized for mental illness at Ark Heart Medical. This could however all be a consequence of the rising GE rates.

Trivia

• Its appearance and location are based on the real-world Shoto Junior High School (松濤中学校, Shoutou Chuugakkou), with the differences being that the fictional Suimei Academy is a private senior high school with stylish uniforms while the real-world Shoto Junior High School is a public middle school with ordinary uniforms.
• In Episode 8 of the Steins;Gate 0 anime, Kaede Kurushima and Fubuki wearing Suimei school uniforms can be seen in a picture, likely as a cosplay.
• Hypothetical Science Pachislot Steins;Gate Inductance of World Rotation, a pachislot arcade game adaptation of Steins;Gate, features animations of Rintaro Okabe and Mayuri Shiina wearing the Suimei school uniform.
